Inquisitive, gentle yet powerful approach to yoga through:
Sound understanding of anatomy and physiology, mind training and embodiment
Karin has a gift for making yoga and mindfulness principles accessible and useful to everyone, regardless of faith or beliefs.
She introduces students to the philosophies and practices of yoga, embodiment and mindfulness in a way that is relevant and applicable to modern lifestyles. She encourages students to expand their practice into their lives off the mat to gain freedom from unhelpful habitual patterns, whether physical or mental.
"Yoga must not be practised to control the body: it is the opposite, it must bring freedom to the body, all the freedom it needs." (Vanda Scaravelli, 1908 - 1999)
Karin's yoga and teaching practice is inspired by Vanda Scaravelli's teaching of postural yoga, her training as an Embodied Yoga Principles tutor, embodied facilitator and coach and her practice of Tibetan Buddhism and Zen (in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh).
Karin teaches weekly morning and evening classes (currently online, normally at Canterbury Yoga in Harbledown and at The Manor Barn in Thanington). Both studios are on the outskirts of Canterbury with plenty of free parking. Visit the classes area for timetable, information and costs. Online classes are currently all by donation and you can attend on a drop-in basis. For workshops and in-person classes pre-booking is essential as classes are often fully booked well in advance.
One to ones are available from £40 per hour. This can include embodied coaching, yoga or mindfulness private tuition. Please contact Karin for further details.
